APRIL 29- MAY 1 ‘Welcome back Seasonals’ covered dish social. Come meet and greet with your fellow seasonals on Saturday at 6:30 in the lounge.
MAY 6-8 MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND Kids are invited to make a MOTHER'S DAY CRAFT on Sat. morning. FREE GAME OF MINI GOLF FOR CAMPING MOMS (must be accompanied by a child). Free coffee and bagel on Sunday morning for camping mothers.
MAY 13-15 Springtime is here! Join our GUIDED SPRING HIKE which leaves from the office at 9am Sat. Also, there will be an egg hunt throughout the campground. Join in our Rubber Duck race in the stream on Saturday afternoon (weather permitting).
MAY 20-22 POUNDS FOR PRIZES CONTEST (guess the weight of various objects and win a prize). FREE GIFT to anyone who brings in a pound or more of aluminum can flip tops or a pound of metal soda/beer bottle caps.
MAY 27 – 30 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND Take a step back into the WILD WEST with a themed TREASURE HUNT on Saturday morning, SHOOTIN' CONTEST (safe for kids) in the afternoon, and a kids craft on Sunday morning. +Celtic Festival at Shawnee Mountain (Saturday & Sunday, 11am-6pm)
JUNE 3-5 FOUNDERS DAY WEEKEND Help us celebrate the life of Joe Taylor, founder of the campground. Learn how extraordinary he was and how he lived his life. View his slide show about animals in NJ and take a guided hike through the history of the campground, Free cake and coffee on Sun. morning.
JUNE 10-12 Celebrate Flag Day with an American scavenger hunt and patriotic coloring contest. Also, adults over 21 are welcome to join us in the lounge for a BROOK HOLLOW WINE TASTING. Wines will be available to try and buy, as well as free cheese and crackers.
JUNE 17-19 FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND Kids are invited to make a FATHER'S DAY CRAFT for Dad on Saturday afternoon. FREE GAME OF MINI GOLF for camping fathers (must be accompanied by a child) BEAVER DAY! COLORING CONTESTS, BEAVER TRIVIA & MORE! Free coffee and bagel on Sunday morning for camping dads.
JUNE 24-26 STREAM STOMP! Don your boots or water shoes and have the opportunity to use nets and other equipment to catch "critters" that live in our pond and stream. Then look at them under microscopes in our “portable lab” to learn about their biology and environment. Saturday afternoon.
JULY 1-4 FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND Kid's story and craft, Patriotic scavenger hunt, jelly bean guess and more! +Shawnee Mountain Fireworks (Sunday July 3rd 7pm-10pm)
JULY 8-10 ICE CREAM SOCIAL Make your own sundae Saturday evening in the lounge (there is a small fee for this event).
JULY 15-17 FRONTIER WEEKEND Test your frontiersman skills with
a FIREBUILDING CONTEST and TREE IDENTIFICATION CONTEST Saturday morning and a CHILI COOKING CONTEST in the evening. Bring a pot of your best chili recipe and sign up on Friday. Judging will be by our campground staff. +Pocono’s Wurst Festival at Shawnee Mountain (Saturday noon – 7pm, Sunday noon – 6pm)
JULY 22-24 Its the THIRD ANNUAL CHICKEN WING WEEKEND at Camp Taylor! Bring at least 2 dozen of your favorite wings to share with your fellow campers.
JULY 29-31 TREASURE HUNT! Pick up your clues Saturday morning in the office.
AUGUST 5-7 ICE CREAM SOCIAL Make your own sundae Saturday evening in the lounge (there is a small fee for this event).
AUGUST 12-14 Adults over 21 are welcome to join us in the lounge for a BROOK HOLLOW WINE TASTING. Wines will be available to try and buy, as well as free cheese and crackers.
AUGUST 19-21 POCONO SNAKE AND ANIMAL FARM will be back for this popular event! Saturday at 7:30
AUGUST 26-28 ICE CREAM SOCIAL Make your own sundae Saturday evening in the lounge (there is a small fee for this event).
SEPTEMBER 2- 5 LABOR DAY WEEKEND Bingo, treasure hunt, story and craft time, and more. +Pocono Garlic Festival at Shawnee, Sat & Sun, 10-6. +SCANDINAVIAN FEST Mon 9/5 10 – 6.
SEPTEMBER 9-11 Are you ready for some FOOTBALL? Pick up your NFL Trivia Treasure Hunt clues in the office on Saturday morning.
SEPTEMBER 16-18 FALL HIKE. Meet at the office at 9 am Saturday to join us.
SEPTEMBER 23-25 HAUNTED HOUSE OPENING NIGHT! +PRCA Rodeo and Chili Cook-off at Shawnee Mountain (Saturday & Sunday 10:30am – 5pm, Rodeo starts at 2pm )
SEPTEMBER 30 - OCTOBER 1 HAUNTED HOUSE, SITE DECORATING CONTEST & SCARECROW BUILDING CONTEST.
OCTOBER 7-10 COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND HAUNTED HOUSE & PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST on Sat. night. +Autumn Timber Festival at Shawnee Mountain (Saturday & Sunday, 11am – 6pm)
